Bio/Resume

  • JP is a 2010 Broadway World Award Nominee for his Philadelphia debut as Jinx in FOREVER PLAID directed and choreographed by Jason McKrain, a show he reprised as the same role in South Jersey as a summer Broadway at the Beach Premiere 2012 and later as Frankie at the Media Theatre (2013 Broadway World Nominee) with Dann Dunn.

  • A musical theatre enthusiast, JP has just finished a production A Christmas Story at the Media Music Performance Theatre going on for his understudy role of The Old Man. He was previously seen playing The Lounge Singer in Dogfight, as well as playing Manfred/Myron in Sunset Boulevard at the Media Music Performance Theatre, also just finished playing Brother Dan/Butler in JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLORED DREAMCOAT. Also seen recently as Gregor/Ralph Devine in MAME at the Media Theatre which traveled to Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope, Pa with Jed Bernstein and Jesse Cline at the wheel. Thrilled to be working with two wonderful leading ladies as well, Andrea Mcardle (Broadway's original Annie, Les Mis, and NBC's Telepic Rainbow) as Mame and her friend Lea DeLaria (one of the best Actresses/Comedics/Singers in show biz today!)

  • Notable regional roles include Frankie in FOREVER PLAID at Media Theatre — "They are deft physical comedians, particularly Dunphy, who as Frankie, shows a command that marks a breakthrough in his performing...Those harmonies! I tell you, they are good enough to make you tolerate any mayhem just to hear them. Again and again, if you’re lucky enough to be able to do it" -(Neil Zoren) — and Corny Collins in HAIRSPRAY — BroadwayWorld Nominee (Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Musical).

  • Recent readings of new works include Larry McKenna's THE NEXT REUNION (ActII Playhouse).

  • JP also teaches Voice, Audition Prep, Public Speaking and Piano. 

  • Recent master classes: UArts/Walnut Street Theatre, Game Changer with Forrest McClendon (Two-Time Barrymore Award Winner) and Eric Ebbenga (Two-Time Barrymore Award Winner)

  • A Philadelphia, Pa native, JP is a DeSales University Grad, currently earning his MA in Musical Theatre at Temple University
